About

Poppy Thomas’s practice explores the intricacies of human connection across physical and temporal distance. Using painting, ceramics, and textiles with vibrant colour, her work captures the unencumbered freedom of childhood to discuss historical and contemporary notions of womanhood. Over the course of her BFA in Studio Art at New York University, a retrospective, nostalgia-driven approach to art-making has evolved into an active means of understanding the people and stories which make up her present surroundings. For Thomas, art is the tangible transcription of the remarkable nature of daily existence.
